Long Time...

So I realize it's been almost a year since I posted on here. Things went really well with freelancing in the city this past year. I will work on posting pictures soon.

It's that time of year though, I am back at the Cape Playhouse. We just opened our first show, Tea at Five, on Monday. The paint treatment was not terribly exciting for this production but I figured I'd post some process shots of the floor and a few finished photos.

The process for the floor was very similar to the way that the Sleuth floor from last summer was painted.

Scumble base coat --> Glaze pass with a brush to get some texture --> Second glaze pass with a pad --> Lining

Pretty simple but I think it turned out looking rather nice.

I know this first step looks CRAZY but it all worked out I assure you.

After the initial brushed glaze.

A sort of detailed shot of the finished floor. The overall tone is pretty dark which is why we went a bit extreme with the base coat because we wanted you to see some movement.

And here is a final stage shot!
